Going to give a voice to the frustration many SF residents feel about inconsistent applications of wrongheaded, kneejerk, misguided, incompetent, perplexing, vexing, unexplainable and outright WRONG policies that are so often seen here in the city and many times simply implemented by fiat on the bequest of unnamed money and favors changing hands.

Numero Uno is the incredible half assed, kneejerk, completely inconsistent approach to bike lanes here in the city.

Example 1 Market Street entrance to the central freeway. What a clusterf**k of a design to solve a "problem" that could have been fixed with a similar solution such as the one that is in place at Fell and Masonic. Dedicated Electronic signage and left turn bike only arrow. Instead we send residents and unsuspecting tourists on a three plus block Mr Toads Wild Ride to appease the squirrel brain bicycle nutzis. I blame the SFMTA for rolling over and codifying what was supposed to be a 6 month experiment but was cemented in place much sooner. Dumbasses.

Example 2 Blocking the Box. Once in a very blue moon it's unaviodable. VERY VERY Rarely. LOOK! If you can't make it across without blocking the box. STAY!  SIT!  STAY!.    

 

Example 3 Parking on JFK Drive in the middle of the road (Like near the rose garden). Not next to the curb where the majority of the civilized world parks. Wouldn't want Gramma to be able to get out of the car safely and step on to the sidewalk. Better to have her navigate packs of two wheelers. F'in Brilliant!  GG Park  Really!? 

Example 4 Green Lanes, Red Lanes, Blue Lanes, Yellow Boxes, Stripes that go here there and every which way. Now mind you, NONE of these paint schemes are to be found in the DMV Guide that we all study scrupulously before renewing our licenses. SO WHERE might explanations of these mysterious rules of the road be found? And God Forbid if you're color blind!

The only place where you'll see this kind of bananaheaded painting is Disney World. Come to think of it, that may actually explain the decision making process. Clearly, Goofy, Dumbo, and Grumpy to name just a few, are making the decisions.

Example 5 Mopeds Lane Splitting to get ahead and then completely struggle to even make it up the hill

Example 6 Bicycles. Sharing lanes doesn't mean taking over a lane. Slower traffic move right. Law has been on the books FOREVER

Example 7 Bicycles. Follow the law, STOP at signs and lights. STOP for pedestrians. LOSE the Attitude !


Example 8 Bicycles. Criminal Massholes. EFF OFF. Your consistently antisocial behavior dilutes any message you once may have had by more than 100 Percent. You have lost all credibility excepting with your toadies. News Flash! Look to organizations like SF Bike Party for groups that engender respect. By simply following all laws, stopping at all signs, real rocket science!
